Legal Advocacy & Policy Clarity

We support clear, fair rules that improve ethical recovery outcomes while respecting landowners and public safety.

The BGBTO has successfully worked with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources to include tracking exceptions in the current hunting regulations, recognizing the important role that blood trackers play in the ethical recovery of wounded game. We continue to collaborate with the MNR to advocate for additional regulatory changes that will enable approved trackers to help recover more game successfully across Ontario.

What We Advocate For

  • Clear definitions separating tracking from hunting
  • Rules that support humane recovery timelines
  • Exceptions in the hunting regulations to allow for approved after-hours recovery
  • Respect for landowner permissions and privacy
