We recruit carefully, train thoroughly, and support volunteers so standards stay high.
Who we’re looking for
- Ethical hunters and conservation-minded outdoorspeople
- Experienced dog handlers (obedience, SAR, scent work, sport)
- Calm judgement under pressure
- Willingness to follow legal boundaries and landowner permissions
Dog suitability
- Calm temperament, controllable drive
- Methodical tracking style and endurance
- Comfortable working on lead and around distractions
Volunteer pathway
- Observer — ride-alongs, learning standards
- Trainee — field training tracks + theory
- Certified — mentored live calls, evaluated readiness
- Mentor — supports new handlers and QA
